Twitter is probably one of the most powerful social media platforms today, but it also happens to be the hardest to use. Trying to come up with a profound message that’s impactful in 280 characters (thanks for the upgrade Twitter!) is not easy for most people.
More often than not, you’ll find writers, social marketers, and digital gurus, spend hours trying to craft a tweet that’s short, sweet, and straight to the point and still have enough space for an image, a link, or the all-important hashtags.
A Twitter bio is equally challenging, if not more so, considering you only have 160 characters to explain who you are, what you do, and why your Twitter is worth following.
Having a good Twitter bio might not seem that important, but here’s the thing: A Twitter bio can be one of the reasons to encourage people to follow you — like it or not, having an impactful Twitter bio is equally important.
In order to give you an idea of how you should craft your Twitter bio, we’ve compiled some of the most clever bios that we could find on the Twittersphere. Check out these awesomely written bios and hopefully, you’ll be inspired to write one just like them!
30 Examples of Clever Bios on Twitter

Candice Walsh
It can be hard for a writer to stand out among the sea of would-be writers in Twitter but Candice Walsh managed to do just that with her Twitter bio. Walsh put the two things that she's known for as the first line of her bio, which is being a travelling redhead and a great lover of books.
Of course, she still managed to include her day job as a Communications Coordinator for the Women’s Film Fest, along with their Twitter handle.

Sixthformpoet
Humor can add personality to your Twitter bio and author Sixth Form Poet usage of self-deprecating humour is an excellent example of adding some laughs while still promoting who you are.

Jason Bateman
Not to be outdone by his best friend, Jason Bateman also mentioned Arnett in his Twitter bio by writing that he’s a “Friend of Will Arnett’s”.

Alyssa Wolff
Alyssa Wolff’s nod to her BFF pact with Alison Leiby is much shorter and straight to the point. She mentions Leiby in her bio as her drinking buddy, whom she is having a drink with right now apparently. Both Wolff and Leiby are truly the friendship goals for all of us on Twitter!
Tim Siedell
Tim Siedell’s Twitter bio is what all of us hope to be able to do, which is to just give up everything and live our lives as a handsome (or beautiful) billionaire. Unfortunately, most of us are not billionaires and/or handsome.
We’re not sure if Siedell can really do both, but we sure do know that he has a great sense of humour.
Damon Lindelof
The creator of the highly acclaimed series LOST knows how to write a succinct bio which encompasses his part as one of the show's creators and how he doesn’t understand it either, just like the rest of us.

First World Pains
In today’s society, “first world problem” are a constant annoyance and this Twitter account pokes fun at all the little things that people tend to complain about: choosing which movie to rent, ordering the wrong drink, or writing a Twitter bio.

We don’t if that’s true or not, one thing’s for sure, her tweets are definitely real and are truly spectacular.
Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks is definitely the “everyman” actor. Rather than writing himself a glamorous Twitter bio, Hanks is comically honest with the fact that sometimes he’s in good shape and sometimes he’s not.
Whether he’s in great shape or not, we still love Tom Hanks as one of the best actors around and for having a pretty darn good Twitter account.
Shonda Rhimes
Shonda Rhimes is the writer for the long-running drama series Grey’s Anatomy and just like Lindelof, she’s well aware of the craziness that comes with a television show.

Old Spice
Known for their irreverent commercials with actor/comedian Terry Crews, Old Spice’s Twitter bio has all the makings of a social media account that knows how to be funny while still being true to their brand.

Melyssa Griffin
If you can’t grab the audience’s attention in the first line of your bio, then you’re not doing it right. Melyssa Griffin’s Twitter bio is a great example of how the first line in your bio can be used to grab people’s attention.

Journalist and Buzzfeed foreign correspondent Max Seddon knows that humour is an integral part of a Twitter bio. Seddon’s homage to comedian Yakov Smirnoff does a great job of adding levity to his job as a reporter based in Russia, while still alluding the dangers that come with it.
Hopefully, Seddon doesn’t get reported on the news for his hilarious Twitter bio and tweets.
Jason Falls
A lot of people tend to have an “online” personality or persona when it comes to creating a social media account, which is why it’s refreshing to have people like Jason Falls who adds a humanizing touch his social media account and Twitter bio.
